The 68th Annual Golden Globes will be handed out Sunday night in Beverly Hills, Calif., and an array of celebrities will be on hand to help distribute the awards.
Teen girls will squeal with delight: Pop sensation Justin Bieber, screen idol Zac Efron and “Twilight” heartthrob Robert Pattinson have been announced as presenters.
In addition, Robert Downey Jr., Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Lopez, Helen Mirren, Jeff Brides, Alec Baldwin, Julianne Moore, Kevin Bacon and Kevin Spacey will be among the presenters. “True Grit” star Matt Damon will present the great Robert De Niro with the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award.
Other presenters: Future “Spider-Man” star and “The Social Network” nominee Andrew Garfield, “White Collar” actor Matt Bomer, “Resident: Evil” star Milla Jovovich, “Tron: Legacy” actress Olivia Wilde, “The Office” comic Steve Carell, previous Globe winner Michelle Pfeiffer and “Mad Men” standout January Jones.
Leading the Globes’ film categories is British monarchy tale “The King’s Speech,” which is up for seven awards, including Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director for Tom Hooper and Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for Colin Firth.
Fox’s musical hit “Glee” leads the television competitors with five nominations, including Best Television Series – Comedy Or Musical and actor nods for Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch.
Oklahoma Country Music star Carrie Underwood will be vying for her first Golden Globe. The Checotah native is nominated for best original song for a motion picture for co-writing “There’s a Place for Us” for the film “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.”
Ricky Gervais will host the awards show for the second year. The show will be broadcast live starting at 7 p.m. Sunday on NBC.
